Pooley Bridge is a charming village where history abounds and the scenery overwhelms. The eponymous bridge was built in the 16th century over the River Eamont which lies at the northern end of Lake Ullswater. The village offers some enchanting local amenities in the form of shops, tea-rooms and pubs. Your visit to Pooley Bridge with its awe-inspiring vistas and every outdoor activity you can wish for will ensure your return again and again.

Elm House Bed and Breakfast, built in 1863, is a family run business which offers you a warm welcome and a wonderfully relaxing stay. Catering for couples, families and the single guest, the house has 8 bedrooms, 7 of which have en suite facilities.
The rooms are a mix of twins and/or doubles and 2 rooms have the added luxury of king size beds. The family room, or group suite, has 2 adjoining rooms and the benefit of its own entrance to the side of the house.

The rooms are all furnished to the highest of standards and include tea and coffee making facilities, colour television, hair dryers, heated towel rails and black-out blinds. As well as an indulgent night's sleep we will provide you with a hearty breakfast second to none. At Elm House we aim to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible and look forward to welcoming you into our family run guest house.
