To capture the tone and spirit of the picturesque lakeside, Montclare Guest House's seven bedrooms have all been tastefully decorated in natural tones with an emphasis on pine furnishings. Of the seven rooms, five are are double rooms and the remaining two are family-sized, affording that bit of extra space for comfortable bunk-beds that are a staple of every child's sweet, lakeside dreams.
All rooms have en-suite facilities, a television and a hospitality tray so you can make tea and coffee at leisure, although Montclare Guest House does have its own in-house Coffee Shop on the ground floor which is open to the public between 9am and 5pm. Before it opens, it is where breakfast is served to guests between 7.30 and 8.30am. The Full English is an ever popular choice, although there is a Vegetarian alternative. Of course, there is a variety of juice, toast and cereal to start, as well as a choice of coffee, tea, Earl Grey or gently warming fruit tea.
With its wide variety of sandwiches and meals suited to the splendid country air, it's an ideal place to sit in and have a light lunch or cup of coffee. If you're spending the day enjoying one of the many local walks or activities, the Montclare Guest House Coffee Shop knows just the packed lunch to see you through.
Whether you're looking for a hearty day's adventuring in and around some of the country's most idyllic and untouched landscape or want to while away a few leisurely hours at the lakeside, Bowness-on-Windermere has a number of activities for the whole family. There is an embarkation point for a steamer which will take you on a gentle cruise around the lake. The trails, walks and views are well known and sure to get the laziest into walking shoes. For a little distraction, the town has a number interesting shops and eateries.
If you stay during the week, rooms start at £22.50 per person per night. Over the weekends, rooms start at £25.00 per person per night, although the rates may vary over Bank Holidays. If you're planning a family trip, ask about the special family packages.
