Sue and Paul Blackburn welcome you to Montfort Cottage Guest House. This is a four-star guest house, rated by Visit England, and it has also won a Certificate of Excellence from Trip Advisor, for three consecutive years.

This charming, elegant guest house is located in the magnificent countryside of the Lake District, between the villages of Bowness and Windermere. There are five bedrooms available to couples. Montfort Cottage Guest House has a no-children policy, so you’re ensured a peaceful, romantic time away from home.

The rooms are located on either the ground floor, first floor or second floor. All have double beds, fitted with Egyptian cotton linen. Buttermere, on the ground floor, is the largest. Buttermere is the only room in which guests can take their breakfast, as it has its own dining table and chairs. Four of the rooms have en-suite shower facilities, while the fifth, Kentmere, offers exclusive use of a private bathroom.

Although the house is imbued with the classical charm of the Lake District, the rooms at Montfort Cottage are modern. All rooms have a Wi-Fi connection, an iPod Docking Station and an LCD TV with Freeview channels. The hospitality tray is a veritable cornucopia of delights, offering everything from Rombouts one-cup filter coffee to Nescafé instant coffee, Horlicks, tea, hot chocolate and mineral water. Wine glasses and corkscrew are also provided. Guests will also appreciate the luxury toiletries by Cole and Lewis of London, as well as fluffy bath and hand towels.

Wake up to a gentle morning and savour a delicious, freshly cooked full English breakfast. Breakfast at Montfort Cottage Guest House is served between 8.30 and 9.45 every morning. Help yourself to yoghurt, cereal, grapefruit in light syrup, fruit juice, fresh fruit and hot porridge from the dresser. Wait for an individually cooked hot breakfast which will delight all who love fine local produce. Vegetarians are most welcome, and they will be pleased to hear that all meat products are kept separate during, storage, handling and cooking.

It’s helpful to know that the rooms at Montfort Cottage Guest House are elegant but small, and not really suited to people travelling with lots of luggage. Montfort Cottage Guest House is a non-smoking establishment.
